Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks is a section of Limsa Lominsa.

The crew of the Galadion built Limsa's lower decks, which are among the city's oldest buildings, between the bay's towers. These platforms and bridges, which span the ocean, have been dubbed the "Navigator's Veil" as when seen from a distance, they glitter and sway in a manner reminiscent of the thinnest gossamer silks.[1]

Points of Interest[]

Barracuda Piers[]

The main squadrons of the Thalassocratic Navy, often known as the Crimson Fleet, are safely moored at these docks. General public access to the location is prohibited to prevent sabotage; nonetheless, from one of Limsa Lominsa's numerous spans, one may on clear days catch a view of the armada flagship, the Triumph.

The Ferry Docks[]

With fishing, trade, and warships docked elsewhere, these docks are used exclusively for ferries traveling to Western Thanalan (Vesper Bay), Kugane, and Sharlayan.

Mealvaan's Gate[]

All unloaded cargo, as well as the crews and passengers of docked ships, must go through inspection at Mealvaan's Gate in order to be taxed. Admiral Mealvaan founded the Gate, which has supported the marine city-state and its trade ever since. The Arcanists' Guild is also located here.

Hawkers' Alley[]

Amidst the pungent aromas of smoke and spice, merchants from the four corners of Eorzea and beyond gather in this corner of city-state, peddling their tramontane wares to all who would buy, while providing a lifeline for those crafters hailing from the faraway nations of Gridania and Ul'dah. It is within these wards that many adventurers have chosen to set up retainer-run stalls, selling everything from the assorted spoils of their exploits to the fruits of their craft-du-jour.

However, the Markets of Limsa Lominsa are not limited to the cluttered confines of this narrow boulevard. On several of the lesser islands speckled about the bay can be found neighborhoods such as the Frippers Ward and the Leechers War—homes to guilds and workshops of innumerable trades.

Hawkers' Alley is currently divided into two areas: East Hawkers' Alley and West Hawkers' Alley. Along with international merchants from other regions, one can also discover goblins, Qiqirn, and other beastmen. Recently, the distant western continent-born Mamool Ja race has even been spotted.

Key NPCs include the Retainer Vocate, Materia Master, Mender, traders, and several vendors. The Summoning Bell and Market Board are in this area as well.

The Octant[]

This grand outdoor plaza, an eight-sided courtyard, is situated below the Mizzenmast and earned its name for the resemblance it bears to the revolutionary nautical instrument invented by maritime scientist and father of modern navigation, Jovanni Gnonno.

During daylight hours, the round resounds with the cries of mountebanks, the songs of bards, and the laughter of children marveling at the many talents of mummers' troupes. Yet come nightfall, the plaza assumes quite another aspect. Bedraped by the soft light of the moon, its steps become a private theater for lovers seeking to gaze upon the timeless drama of the heavens.

Most notably, the Limsa Lominsa aetheryte plaza is located here.

The Zephyr Gate[]

The Zephyr Gate, Limsa Lominsa's grand entrance, gets its name from the delightful westerly air that blows through the area. The Procession of Terns, which goes to middle La Noscea, is beyond its doors.

Bulwark Hall[]

Bulwark Hall, the base of the Mizzenmast, serves as a defense for the Bridge, the seat of Lominsan power. The hall contains arrow slits throughout its walls to allow soldiers within to fend off assailants as the final line of defense.

Fisherman's Bottom[]

The lowest place in the city, it is home to Wawalago's Pullers, the largest group of fishermen in the city. The Fishermen's Guild may be found here.

The Astalicia[]

This battle-scarred battleship is commanded by the Bloody Executioners' commander and lord of the underworld, One-eyed Hyllfyr, and is registered as a trading vessel from foreign waters. It serves as a meeting place for brigands, cutthroats, and the suppliers of various other kinds of villainy. The numerous pirate crews of the city-state gather new members to join their ranks here.

The Dutiful Sisters of the Edelweiss[]

This purported "convent" is located in the harbor's periphery. In reality, the location houses the Rogues' Guild, who make sure that no one violates the unwritten criminal code.

Pharos Polaris[]

Erected over decades out of bright white chalk mined from nearby cliffs, this collosal lighthouse is a beacon for sailors braving the night seas, her light providing safe passage through the perilous shallows of Galadion bay. Its maintenance is the responsibility of Naldiq & Vymelli's, and entry is restricted to company personnel solely for security reasons.

Few, save the candlekeeps who maintain a constant vigil over the flames, know anything about the pale blue light which emanates from atop the spire. Some say it comes from the maw of an arcane bomb, locked in a cage and tormented until its anger burns bright. Others say the keeps themselves are powerful mages who use their thaumaturgies to capture the rays of the sun each day, only to release them again at night.[2]
