Patch 4.5 - A Requiem for Heroes, introduces many new features, including the first limited job, Blue Mage.

Notes

Patch 4.5 contains content that can only be accessed by registering the expansion packs for Final Fantasy XIV to your service account. To distinguish between adjustments that are and are not affected by the registration of these expansions, the following notations will be used throughout the patch notes:

• [2.x] These additions and adjustments only require the purchase of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
• [3.x] These additions and adjustments require the purchase and registration of Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward.
• [4.x] These additions and adjustments require the purchase and registration of Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood.
• [2.x][3.x][4.x] These additions and adjustments contain elements that may require the purchase and registration of the expansion packs noted above.

Playable content

Quests

• [2.x] New job quests have been added.
  • Blue mage job quests are scheduled for implementation one week after the release of patch 4.5.
    • Out of the Blue
    • Blue Leading the Blue

• [2.x] The rewards for the following main scenario quests will now include 300 Grand Company seals:
  • Wood's Will Be Done
  • Till Sea Swallows All
  • For Coin and Country
  • This reward has been added so that players can purchase a chocobo issuance sooner.

Treasure Hunt

• [4x] Additions and adjustments have been made to the rewards available in the Lost Canals of Uznair, the Shifting Altars of Uznair, and the Hidden Canals of Uznair.

Grand and Free Companies

• [3.x] The following dungeons are now available for adventurer squadron command missions:
  • The Fractal Continuum
  • Pharos Sirius (Hard)
• [2.x][3.x] New craftable items have been added to the company workshop.
• [2.x] The following additions and adjustments have been made to subaquatic voyages:
  • New voyage destinations have been added.
  • New items have been added, obtainable through subaquatic voyages.
  • The maximum rank for submersibles has been increased from 40 to 50.

Housing

• The timer for auto-demolition on the Japanese data centers will resume with the release of patch 4.5. Further details can be found on the Lodestone.
• [2.x][3.x][4.x] Furnishings from the FFXIV Furnishing Design Contest have been added.
  • Learn more about the Furnishing Design Contest.
• [2.x][3.x][4.x] New furnishings have been added.
• [2.x] The limit on the number of interactive furnishings that can be displayed has been removed. As of Patch 4.5, all such items will be displayed regardless of how many are placed.
  • The furnishings that can be interacted with are limited to the 40 closest items to the player.
  • If playing on a 32-bit operating system, there may be cases in which not all furnishings are displayed.

You can now hide the arrow icons that indicate interactive furnishings. From the System section of the main menu, choose Character Configuration, Display Name Settings, then adjust the Housing Furniture settings from the NPCs tab.

• [2.x] The precision with which furnishing positioning is registered has been increased to prevent items from moving out of place when reentering an estate.
  • All placed furnishings will now remain in their correct positions until moved by the player.
• [2.x] Lalafell and Roegadyn mannequins have been added.
  • To use these new designs, access a mannequin and choose "Select race and gender."
• [2.x] New estate tags have been added.
• [2.x][4.x] New orchestrion rolls have been added.
• [2.x] Players can now use Return and Teleport from inside an inn room.
  • This change also applies to Eternity Rings and Aetheryte Pendulums.
• [2.x] New aquarium fishes have been added.
• [2.x] New aquarium tank trimmings have been added.
• [2.x] A new seed for flowerpots has been added.
  • Lily of the Valley Pips can be purchased from the following NPCs:
    • Mist (X:11.0 Y:11.4) – Material Supplier
    • The Lavender Beds (X:11.9 Y:8.3) – Material Supplier
    • The Goblet (X:10.9 Y:8.9) – Material Supplier
