Western La Noscea is a zone located in La Noscea.

During the Sixth Astral Era, this area, which lay southwest of Vylbrand, was a lush land with a scattering of farmsteads that supplied much of Limsa Lominsa's crops. But since the Calamity, ruin has slowly crept over its rolling hills, and the Sahagin, who descend from the northwest, pose a particular danger.

Geography[]

Quarterstone[]

Granaries and golden wheat were previously in great abundance due in part to the relentless labor of Quarterstone's former occupants, despite the fact that one in four parts of its soil is rock. Since the farmers moved to Limsa Lominsa when the Calamity arrived, the lands have become stagnant and become overgrown and untamed.

  • Swiftperch: A brand-new community built on the ruins of a watchtower that once served the Yellowjackets, this area was created as a part of a grand plan to recreate aetheryte encampment. Farmers from Quarterstone are gradually moving back, despite a difficult outlook.
  • The Flock: Although the wheat used to grow well here, the fields have lain barren for five years due to a lack of farmers. Currently, a herd of feral dodos has taken over the region.
  • Brewer's Beacon: To ensure safe passage for trade ships transporting shipments of dark stouts and blonde barleywines out of Aleport, this relatively new lighthouse was constructed not long after the Calamity destroyed Swiftperch Tower. The candlekeeps also keep an eye out for the increasingly regular rogue tides brought on by Leviathan, the Lord of the Whorl.

Skull Valley[]

This valley's name allude to a bloody past. Yellowjackets killed the kobolds who ventured down from O'Ghomoro, and their skulls were displayed as a warning to others. The area is now more prone to experience Sahagin intrusion due to the shifting times.

  • Sastasha Seagrot: This naturally occurring grotto was created when centuries of pounding waves eroded the sea rock. While there are many rumors that the Seagrot is home to dangerous coeurls, it is now known that this was a ruse used by the Serpent Reavers to scare off wanderers. These pirates have established a refuge in the bottom of the cavern, which leads to the sea where they help the Sahagin.
  • Aleport: Ale does not become stale on lengthy sea trips like water does. As a result, many ships anchored in this, the second harbor on Vylbrand, to load the cargo into their holds. Due to the cheap taxes on different brews, Aleport is able to do a decent business in grog. The fact that this was a strategy created particularly to stop huge ships from jamming the port of Limsa Lominsa is a lesser known fact.
  • Camp Skull Valley: Now a crucial outpost for the Maelstrom, this camp was formerly only a group of tents occupied by a small Yellowjacket detachment tasked with keeping watch for kobold incursions. Beastmen who had the audacity to travel down from O'Ghomoro were killed, their heads severed, and their skulls displayed as a warning to others.
  • The Founder's Crypt: The Founder's Crypt was built to honor Aerghaemr, a pioneer who gave his life so that many more could live. When the Sahagin struck, he was the only one who stayed behind to give his companions crucial time to evacuate.
  • North & South Tidegate: A sizable Sahagin force emerged from the seas and claimed Halfstone, a remote Lominsan settlement on the westernmost tip of La Noscea, by taking advantage of the confusion left in the wake of the Calamity. A huge wall was built between the allied Skull Valley and the enemy-occupied lowlands to stop any further expansion of the beastman forces.

Halfstone[]

Men diligently struggled to reclaim Halfstone despite the high rock concentration in the soil, and eventually formed a farming hamlet. But when the primal Leviathan launched a powerful tidal surge after the Calamity, all of this washed away, leaving just a barren stretch of rocky shore.

  • The Serpent's Tongue: The voracious Serpent Reaves, who have joined forces with the Sahagin to wage war on other people, use this secret port as a hideout.
  • Sapsa Spawning Grounds: Following the tidal wave's impact with the coast, the Sahagin rushed this location and are now painstakingly converting it into a breeding habitat.
  • Sahagin Landbase: The Landbase, which was created by sea warriors, has repeatedly permitted the aquatic beastmen to attack the Maelstrom positioned at North and South Tidegate.
  • The Reef of Sending: The Sahagin send their brethren's spirits back to the blue oceans from the Reef of Sending, where they died on land.
  • Novv's Nursery: Clutchfather Novv nurtured his spawnlings alongside his hospitable clutch at this small beastman colony.

The Isles of Umbra[]

These islands, among which is the mythical Moonshade Isle, are scattered throughout the seas off Aleport.

  • The Ship Graveyard: Shipwrecks that occurred off the southern coast of Vylbrand have been brought by currents for ages to this peaceful inlet, serving as a timeless reminder of the endless wrath of the deep. There are so many wooden corpses in this watery graveyard, it is rumored that there are ten more hulls slumbering beneath each one that can be seen.
  • Pharos Sirius: A colossal beacon called Pharos Sirius was constructed to direct ships into Aleport securely. Its tires were powered by aetherial energy, a Naldiq & Vymelli's invention that was both brilliant and ground-breaking. However, a projectile that hit the lighthouse during the Calamity transformed the aether inside into a substantial amount of tainted crystal.[1]
